All avocados processed by Natures Fruit Company undergo a post harvest treatment to ensure that our avocados are free from such diseases as Anthracnose and Stem End Rot (See picture below). The post harvest treatment also ensures that fruit leaving the Natures Fruit Company pack shed is free from Queensland and Mediterranean fruit fly species.

Any visible signs of foreign matter are removed from Natures Fruit Company avocados. Passing Avocados over an Avocado grade set of synthetic brushes ensures that spray residues, dirt and other types of foreign matter are not found on any of our products and that fruit is presented in a way that will appeal to the customer.
When the avocados have gone through the post harvest treatment they must remain wet for 60 seconds before they can undergo a drying treatment. The drying of the avocados is accomplished by passing the fruit through a heated drying tunnel. This is a very important part of the process as it is essential in maintaining product quality and ensures fruit is free from moisture when being packed.
